 The osmotic force of Magnesium Hydroxide acts to draw fluids from the body and to retain those already within the lumen of the intestine, serving to distend the bowel, thus stimulating nerves within the colon wall, inducing peristalsis and resulting in evacuation of colonic contents. Magnesium Hydroxide acts as alkali to neutralize acid. Liquid paraffin acts as a stool lubricant. 

 With medicine: Efficacy may be reduced In combination with Quinidine, Sodium polystyrene sulfonate, Iron salts, Isoniazide. With food & others: No interaction were found with feed. 

 If overdosed serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing may be seen. 

 In recommended dosage Magnesium Hydroxide do not have effect on pregnancy. However, risk & necessity should considered before administration. 

 Some products have significant quantities of sodium and potassium and should be used cautiously in patients who should have these electrolytes in their diet.
