Others in this group include imidocarb dipropionate, diminazene aceturate, pentamidine isethionate, and phenamidine isethionate. These drugs inhibit DNA synthesis in protozoa. Clinical use is limited in the United States because it is not commercially available. However, it has been tried for some rare infections in dogs, cats, and horses.
